Awards

WFO has established awards to honor individuals who have contributed significantly to our society and to honor ornithologists who have had a profound and lasting influence on western ornithology.

  • The Alan M. Craig award was established in 1987 to honor individual accomplishment, leadership and dedication that has greatly furthered the mission of the WFO.
  • The Harry S. Swarth award was established in 2011 to honor a body of work that has significantly advanced field ornithology in the West.
  • WFO also periodically presents a Volunteer Service Award.
