During her career as a field research ecologist, Debbie House conducted several long-term bird monitoring projects in the eastern Sierra region of California for ecological restoration projects and to help guide adaptive management. Now “semi-retired”, some of her research is continuing, balanced with more birding dog walks, working out, home projects, and travel. Debbie holds an M.S. in biological sciences from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, served on the California Bird Records Committee from 2019 to 2022, and has been an associate editor for Western Birds since 2022.
