Isabelle Busch has always been fascinated by nature but taking a college ornithology course was the birding point of no return. While in college at Washington State University, she wrangled wild salmon, tended beehives, spotted rare jungle-dwelling birds, and researched sharks. Now, she is pursuing a career in science communication. Her writing has been published in Birding magazine,
Colorado Birds, and The Wildlife Society’s publications. At Colorado State University, her M.S. thesis research in ecology focuses on regional corvid accents. In her spare time, she bakes, skis, sketches, and volunteers with Denver Field Ornithologists.
