Robert McKernan was WFO president in 1990–1993 and is emeritus director of San Bernardino County Museum, where he spent 12 years as museum director, six years as senior curator of biological sciences, and seven years as associate curator. He also worked for six years as a research ornithologist at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and for four years as a biologist at the University of California, Riverside. Robert is an ornithologist with Oasis Bird Observatory conducting waterbird research at the Salton Sea and continues research on morning flight behavior in the Southwest.
